There are ultrasound machines capable of recording videos.... My first kid got a VHS tape... hmmm, I wonder what happened to that thing...
Anyway, nowadays, they can probably record the videos and send them over wifi or email.... hehe I'm glad everything is going great with you! Look at it, you can see the little arms and legs and the umbilical cord!
Um..... looks just like you.

That's so wonderful! I hope things continue to go smoothly as the little one grows.
Did you say the gender yet? I know you're calling it a "he" but has that been confirmed?
That is fantastic!!!
So........... no more praying to the porcelain god?

It's still very early and he's teeny tiny, so not much detail can be seen on the crappy ultra sound pic, but there he is! He was awake during the exam and dancing all around lol. They should give us ultra sound videos instead. I still have the video of the ultrasound of daughter number 1. Seems like that would be a good revenue source for the hospitals, especially with first time parents. Add hot water as you would for hot tea and steep for five minutes. Drink it and it will help with the nausea. Also carry peppermint candies with you. When you feel sick, you can suck on one. Hey guys, figured I'd give an update now that I am officially 14 week. The baby so far is looking okay. Measurements are on par with his age, heartbeat is normal, and no major abnormalities have been seen yet at this point.
I did get some abnormal lab results back a couple of weeks ago that have me pretty upset, and that is my liver enzymes are elevated and there is some protein in my pee. Also, my blood pressure had been slightly rising ever since getting pregnant and is now at the threshold of "high". These are all indications of oncoming early onset preeclampsia, which have me pretty nervous. I had preeclampsia with my last baby too, and though that isnt the ultimate reason he died, it was certainly a contributing factor. My maternal fetal specialist I've been seeing has told me I have PTSD surrounding my last pregnancy, and... well, these new findings havent helped ease my mental state. Not much that I can be do about preeclampsia except to keep taking my low dose aspirin and eventually take blood pressure meds if/when it gets any higher. But none of that does anything to help with the underlying condition itself. Anyway, just figured I'd let yall know where things stand right now, and here is a picture of him from last week:

Congrats on the pregnancy, CL.
Hope everything goes well for you and the child..
Awesome news!
Don't let the worry get to you! (I know, I know... words are wind and these don't help at all) Eat healthy, take all the meds that the docs advise and hope for the best... in a few months, you'll be the proud owner of a new human! For that PTSD... I advise you keep yourself busy with other stuff. Hobbies, or just hanging out with folk, offline but also online! For the liver, no alcohol!! hehe, I know you are probably already on that "diet". Avoid fructose which has the same effect as alcohol. Avoid fruit drinks, but eat whole fruits. The fibre helps with everything! Pee, kidneys... water - drink lots of water! non-sparkly... that gas will ruin your teeth and make you burp. Have you ever felt a burp from the inside? your baby does! You say it's a "him". Do you already know that?
Thanks Poca. Dont know yet the sex of the baby. Too early to tell still.
Hang in there kid. I'm rooting for ya!

Indeed. All I want is to CL to get all the poo she can get. And it will be a lot of poo. Smelly, but sweet poo.
My Mil went through the lost baby deal. I won't bore you with details except to say that the one living child (my wife) probably made it because my MiL stayed in bed nearly the entire time. Any sort of strain caused problems. Be sure and take it easy!

Nice to hear an update. Second trimester, yay! Speaking also as a parent, your worries are understandable - but I don't know any woman who's had a pregnancy/ childbirth completely worry-free. Sounds like you're in good care though. Keep us updated! -Teresa

Congratulations! Hope for the best. Don't give up hope. Took me and my wife 8 years for our first one although we had pretty much given up, but the second one came with no problem.
