My favorite hobby was operating a caterpillar farm. I specialized in giant Saturniid moths.  I also reared and released Monarch Butterflies. I had to shut down my operation in 2005 after the Fish & Wildlife Dept. started aerial spraying of Bacillus thuringiensis to kill Forest Tent Caterpillars in this area. The bacillus is not target specific and kills caterpillars of many species, including those of giant silk moths. In 2005, I lost about 95% of my livestock and those that survived produced sickly and/or stunted adults the following spring.

Nowadays, I read and watch movies, but I don't consider those activities a hobby.

I went for a run this morning. Didn't plan on that but those cops came out of nowhere.

I do need to get back on it. Me and my daughter had a short run together last week, maybe around 1.5 mile at best, as we didn't want to go too far out because of my young daughter.

With working from home I'm working and trying to play teacher with her as well lol. I spent this morning doing multiplication tables with her, while working lol. When i'm done working I'm really tired out haha.

I have been doing the odd morning work out though, also with my daughter as a British work out dude [Joe Wicks] is doing morning PE classes for kids via youtube, so I've been joining in with that to keep me going Smile

My regular hobbies: reading, keeping a journal.

My irregular hobbies: painting, photography, writing.

My wife loves collecting: plastic dinosaurs, squirrel dolls, stamps, coins, rocks, folk music, books, Christmas ornaments, computer games, DVDs of movies with Anthony Hopkins and Sean Bean, and nature documentaries. We also have nine computers in our house, so that might count as a collection too.

I don’t check out the members’ art thread much, but I know there is one; it would be nice to see it become more active.

I’m unhappy that all the jigsaw puzzles in our house have been completed.  If only there was a way to get more...

Other hobbies this spring will include cleaning up our yard and finally getting an al fresco dining situation going on the patio, maybe break out the horseshoes and other yard games.

Amazon sells a ton of jigsaw puzzles. And there are free online ones, too.

I’ll check out the online ones (I’m curious about how that work and whether it would satisfy the physical  stim I get from doing them and running the pieces through my fingers.

While I was kind of joking about not knowing where I could get jigsaw puzzles, unfortunately until our bank account gets some bumps from stimulus checks, university room and board refunds, etc., we aren’t going to be spending on anything extra.  My husband’s car died unexpectedly on a grocery run tonight, we had to have it towed back home and will soon have to have it towed to the repair shop...annoying times.  All extra $ are going to alcohol, rainy year, and my son’s first apartment funds.
Not puzzles, although in terms of bang for buck, puzzles are great.

There's some really fun Paint by Numbers for Adult paintings available now.  They've become more popular because everyone's stuck inside.

They have cool Van Gogh Paint by Numbers.   I used to looooove doing paint by numbers. People scoff at them but I learned a lot about painting by doing them.  I would wile away hours ensconced in them and I grew to love the smell of the paints.  Even today, if I smell a paint my numbers paint pot I go into a mental place that's warm and safe and wonderful. Ahhhhhhhhh

I rode my new saddle. It's wider, so it's more appropriate for a woman's anatomy, but it's also quite slick and I have it angled forward too much. It results in a lot of rubbing the top underside of my thigh, causing some warmth and discomfort. Aside from adjusting the saddle angle, I'm not sure what I want to do about that. A more traditional saddle is preferable, but this saddle has a compartment I can store my tools in and secure with a cheap lock which would prevent anyone but a bike thief from opening it. I've ordered a $1 luggage lock from China, but it might actually be more secure without it, as it's not immediately apparent that there's a compartment or something to be opened without either knowing this specific saddle or accidentally noticing the little, embedded plastic hasp at the back of the saddle. Still, I don't feel all that comfortable just leaving it unlocked with my tools inside.

I was riding 200 miles a month in 2018, so the wide saddle thing is a non-starter. I just need to reacquaint myself with it Smile

Mainly reading, piano, and video games. Also watching educational stuff on Youtube if that counts.

A friend thought it was common/lemon balm. I've no idea, really, it was something that I found growing in the (wild-ish) part of the garden and liked the look of ladybugs on it Dunno

I made a harness for a stripper once that started out like that one, then got seriously kinky. She tipped well but never paid me for it. Whistling
