A Naturalistic World

According to Google, "opportunistic" means "exploiting chances offered by immediate circumstances without reference to a general plan or moral principle."

My problem with opportunism is that it is short-sighted and does not even consider what is honest or dishonest, just what is advantageous.  That's why I consider opportunistic humans immoral.  We can do better than animals, who are largely driven by instinct.  

However, it still should not surprise anyone that many humans are driven by their instincts before they learn to be more thoughtful.

So the best way to solve the moral problem of naturalism, in my mind, is to insist on accuracy in regards to the facts.  That usually defeats dishonest opportunism.  And I think that's what most atheists do.

What's the moral problem of naturalism?  If the facts insisted on are natural facts, then moral naturalism defeats dishonest opportunism.

It's also been my experience that the vast majority of atheists are natural realists, though that isn't saying much, since the vast majority of everyone I've ever met have been natural realists.
