Quote:So, while the discovery of the healed fracture at Manot is not unique, it adds to the growing body of evidence that shows that prehistoric hominins were anything but primitive brutes, researchers say.

“They didn’t leave people who were sick to die somewhere, they took care of those who were weaker,” Hershkovitz says. In fact, he adds, the creation of complex societies that led hominins to cooperate on difficult tasks and mutually support each other when an individual faltered is probably the main reason for the survival of these groups, and ultimately proved to be the key to the success of our species.

Oh, great, more Commies.

In my carving class this morning, a couple of chump supporters were discussing the coming election. They are of the opinion that socialism=communism and anything to the left of the chump is bad news. One of the guys there, who used to teach university level history and political science attempted to explain the difference, but they just got stupid on him. Disgusting.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

The founders were right. A functioning democracy requires an educated electorate.

They've probably been stupid for a long time.

Quote:Direct evidence of Neanderthal fibre technology and its cognitive and behavioral implications

Quote:Individual twisted fibres on stone tools from the Abri du Maras led to the hypothesis of Neanderthal string production in the past, but conclusive evidence was lacking. Here we show direct evidence of fibre technology in the form of a 3-ply cord fragment made from inner bark fibres on a stone tool recovered in situ from the same site. Twisted fibres provide the basis for clothing, rope, bags, nets, mats, boats, etc. which, once discovered, would have become an indispensable part of daily life. Understanding and use of twisted fibres implies the use of complex multi-component technology as well as a mathematical understanding of pairs, sets, and numbers. Added to recent evidence of birch bark tar, art, and shell beads, the idea that Neanderthals were cognitively inferior to modern humans is becoming increasingly untenable.

And when contrasted with Trumptards, HNS is starting to look positively brainy!

Pft. That's nothing. Even a Neanderthal could throw a spear.

And being more heavily muscled they could throw it farther than a HSS, until the atlatl came along. But! Why couldn't the HSN copy that?

Yes, indeed.

Quote:The Schöningen spears are eight wooden throwing spears, dated to before 300,000 years ago, discovered between 1994 and 1998 in the open-cast lignite mine, in Schöningen, county Helmstedt, Germany, together with thousands of animal bones. They are regarded as the first direct evidence for active hunting by H. heidelbergensis (pre-Neanderthals).

So charging a wooly rhino with a wooden spear didn't count as "active"?

That's racist.

Figured I'd beat the SJWs to it.
