Well, there are still super-shit-upon "lower" caste people in India. I just saw a news article about a new Hindu temple built in New Jersey that the builders used them for the stone work. Most of them are sick from not having the correct (or any) protective gear. They won't even be allowed in the temple when it's finished, as they are too low-caste.

I don't consider this science but, yes, most people are peasants who actively vote against their best interests and further the ridiculous wealth gap between the working class and the ultra rich.

You sound like a...not good person... calling most people peasants, to my ears. Also, an empathetic gentlemen votes in the interests of others too, not just themselves. What you wrote makes it sound like selfish FuckFace Trump is the antitheses of a peasant, when I'd say he sleeps in that very peasenty filthy bed.

In America at least, the wealthiest 1% of the population hold assets equal to the bottom 90% of people combined. That gap has only grown and continues to grow. Data has shown that the higher the income of Americans the faster their wages grow. But do people do anything about it? Do people vote for affordable higher education or expanded healthcare? No. People vote for the Republican billionaires to cut social safety nets like social security and Medicaid so they can give huge tax breaks to the wealthiest people in the country. People voted in a convicted felon and rapist who they knew would make inflation worse because they care more about keeping transexuals from having rights, women from having an infinitesimal amount of power closer to men's and immigrants from getting jobs than they care about their own wellbeing. If that's not peasant behavior, I don't know what is.

Those "peasants" want to "own the Libs", even at their own expense. They are willfully ignorant. They voted for chump the circus huckster just like the religious say "Hallelujah" for the preacher in revival tent.

Poor agricultural labor has been invisible for some time, and yet they must exist, or you'd have starved long ago, eh?

I have no sympathy at all for these assholes complaining about face-eating leopards. You voted for the guy? Fuck off with your disappointment, and listen to reason next time, ya dumbfuck. Until then, spare me your tale of woe. I've got my own, that your vote helped lay upon me. Thanks, asshole.

As of 2024 and early 2025, the wealthiest 1% of households
in the United States held approximately 30-32% of the
country's total net worth.

While that 1% holds roughly $50 trillion in assets, the vast
majority of the remaining population, particularly the poorest
50%, holds only 2.5% as of 31 March 2024.

Similar statistics here in Australia indicate that top 1% are
collectively wealthier than the poorest 60% of the population,
with the top 20% holding more than 90 times the wealth of
the lowest 20%.

There have never been peasants in Australia per se, in
the sense of the medieval feudal system.

Median Global Income is less than $10/day. Half the world can't even afford to be peasants. I leave it to you to explain why you can't think of the majority of the planet.

If you will go with Wikipedia definition of peasant as a pre-industrial agricultural laborer or a farmer with limited land-ownership, especially one living in the Middle Ages under feudalism and paying rent, tax, fees, or services to a landlord then not really. But if peasant is a person who owns or rents a small piece of land and grows crops, keeps animals, etc. on it, especially one who has a low income, very little education, and a low social position then I suppose you could find plenty of them even in this day and age.

This thread might be in part started because of this delightful track. Also somebody once accusing me of viewing subjective musical simpletons as being peasants. His words, not mine...I remember those words still however, so I think they must have struck home to a degree...painfully home perhaps.

I got it straight away, pheasants, without reading your explainer, when I woke up 30 mins ago after posting blind drunk (11 pints). I think I might be at my whit's end with my drinking. Fuck knows. I doubt I'll ever be free of this vice TBH.
