Today, while switching between posts on this forum, I have managed to  

- Completed an entire section of my audio Greek language course.
- Closed two business deals.
- Designed a Cabinet
-Learned how to make a new dumpling recipe.
-Chat with my girlfriend

But hey, some random loudmouth on the internet claims to know I'm miserable and depressed because...lol

Not on this forum, but on other forums, my post count easily reaches around 70,000 some days, and I still manage to do the kind of stuff I mentioned earlier, so this refutation doesn't hold up.

And you forgot retired!  I read a book every two days, cook dinner every evening, suffer chronic pain and am mobility impaired and neither depressed nor unhappy.  I retired almost 8 years ago after a 25 yr career in a hospital lab and we are financially secure…oh, and happily married for 51+ years.  We have children and grandchildren that live in town and we’re a close family.  I also meet with my girlfriends every two weeks for brunch and gossip.

I’m online a lot every day because I have the time available.  I keep up with several news sites as well.  I’m far from miserable.

Congratulations on the 51 years of marriage! Me and Mrs Mancunian have been together for 33 years and are looking forward to retirement together, will be nice to just do what we like with no work commitments getting in the way.

I really love being retired…I was concerned I’d get bored.  Nope, not at all.  I’m a readaholic which is perfect for my inability to walk very much and I discovered the most comfortable place to read and not have my back annoy me is in my car.  So, I take daily trips to a nearby park where I can flip my iPad cover over the steering wheel and read away while watching the geese on the pond or the folks playing baseball.  It also gets me out of the house daily and gives my hubby and I a bit of a break being in each others face 24/7.  

Congrats on 33 years!  I think we’ve both passed the average…and better than many Christian’s do!

Imagine not being able to understand how a person could have all the time they want to do the things they like, and then accidentally exposing that confused bitterness in a series of troll posts about depressed atheists. I still don't know much about what you like to do and the things that give your life meaning Huggy - with whatever meager time your god filled life allows, I guess?

As for me, I don't think that the things I find meaningful and give me joy would give me more or less joy depending on whether I believed in gods. Say I was a christian nut, like you, and I had a crisis of faith. Am I supposed to go tell my wife of 17 years that it's all meaningless now? Can't see that going well. Do you have a wife, have you discussed this with her?

I'm not sure what you're referencing with the 90,000 posts, but if you look at THIS forum's stats, You'll see that only 1 thread about religion is 8th out of 15 threads, the other 14 threads that have nothing to do with religion.

Being an introvert, I naturally find most social activity to be a waste. But I think it's unfair to harp on the church just because he's a theist. If anything, the social aspect is probably good. What I'd focus on is the tendency for the us vs them mentality in social gatherings.
