As far as consenting adults only, I have no problem if 2 related people want to get jiggly…as long as one is sterile and unable to produce offspring from the union. If a pregnancy occurs, I won’t demand abortion but highly recommend it. If children are produced, it’s up to the parents to deal with, I guess. Don’t the odds say it’s unlikely to cause problems unless succeeding (or previous) generations continue the practice? The Hapsburgs took a few generations as did the Romanovs, if I recall correctly?
I’m not bothered by two consenting adults consenting to anything except cannibalism and murder of each other. Consent being the big operative word here.
I don't give a shit. The widely believed in effects of sister fucking aren't based in fact. The kids tend to be fine. You gotta do it for a bit to see a potential problem. I feel like the government has other shit to worry about, like all these goddamned traitors and insurrectionists.....ostensibly not the product of generational incest...but I'm open to convincing on that count.

I think incest laws are another example of what happens when you have laws based on religious belief systems.

Authoritarian religions do love their blue laws. Expanding the concept to the whole of governance is the logical and practical endpoint of religious dominionism.
