Compliments of the Festive Season
As an atheist of course, I don't seriously acknowledge
the birth of the entity that Christians call Jesus Christ,
but in the overall public, feel-good sentiments of the
season—and also considering how dire the state of the
world in general has become—I don't have any particular
issues extending my wishes for a happy and safe Festive
Season to all my friends and associates—and that also
includes all you folks on our forum.

So, from the land Downunder, and with that regard.....

Solstitial Greetings!
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Thanks SYZ! We've got all our trees up and lights on out here, inside and out. Makes everything seem cheerful and bright, though none of us believe the religious propaganda.

I put up our tree today. Not love for this Jebus guy, but "Peace on Earth and good will to all" will always get my vote.

I'm sure we all have an "Uncle Ron" who we're
forced to invite over for Christmas dinner every
year, and who invariably, after a few tipples, starts
questioning everybody's recounting of the family's
comings and goings for the past year.

"No, no no Mavis; Jeremy went overseas in late June,
not July".  "And young Davy was married on the 8th of
January, not the 18th".   Ad nauseam...

Party goers on Bronte Beach near Sydney left behind—literally—tonnes
of rubbish after partying all day and night on Christmas day.  Most were
observed as Millennials or Gen Z.      And not a Boomer in sight:

More than 250 additional garbage bins were placed at Bronte by the local
council in anticipation of the large event, but were largely ignored by the
crowds.

Hundreds of beer and wine bottles were also among the trash seen strewn
across the usually idyllic beach park despite there being a total ban on alcohol.

So... are these the same censorious young "adults" who repeatedly
accuse us Baby Boomers of polluting the planet and destroying its
future because of our allegedly self-centred, inconsiderate lifestyle?

Pizza -- glorious pizza, and good wine -- so good, you will believe in God.

I had glorious, wonderful pizza this evening: a deep dish with mushrooms and red onions and banana peppers; divine.

The wine opened up to give gentle astringency, smells of clay, and tastes of minerals, lickerish, and raisins.

I had a wonderful time.

I would tell you where to find it, but it's a local family affair.

(More for me!)

Well, claiming an "immaculate conception" is sure one way to explain to your parents why you are pregnant...
The existence of humans who believe in a deity is not evidence that there is a deity.

I didn't do much decorating, but a cat-blogger friend mentioned to me that she has a sturdy hook in the ceiling and ties the top of the tree to it so her cats won't crash it down trying to crawl up it.  LOL!
