Don't talk with your mouth full, dude.
Also, more balance in your diet would be good.

I didn't talk with my mouth full. The point of the video is that I'm done eating for the day, and I'm logging in everything I ate.

Don't take it to the extreme Will. Realize that extremes are a part of your personality that are not healthy.

That's good advice; what my doctor tells me is 1500 calories a day for sustainable, healthy, weight loss. My second day was not an attempt to 'correct' my first day. I just did not want to stuff myself for those last few hundred calories

I enjoyed your clearly articulated food reports,
and your editing too Will. You actually have a
very listenable speaking voice!
Like a couple of the others here, I felt your diet
may be a little one-sided. No red meat, eggs,
dairy or seafood? You appear to be focussing
on a totally plants, seeds, and high oils diet.
The US Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics warns
of the risk of vitamin B12 deficiencies in vegetarians,
as vitamin B12 is found naturally only in animal
products. To counteract the increased risks of a
plant-based diet, it should include B12 supplements.
8,700kJ (kilojoules) that is the “average” intake for
an adult male in Australia, and widely used as a
benchmark figure and as the basis of food labels
such as the Percent Daily Intake (RDI) values.
Recently kJ numbers have appeared on our fast
food menu boards and they use 8,700kJ as the
yardstick to assess their foods against.
For example a McDonald's big Mac contains
550 calories—or a fifth of your daily healthy
calorific requirements! Add a large "fries" and
that's another 366 calories.
[8,700kJ = 2,000 calories]

Yes, I've switched to a vegan diet (except for honey!).
I take a plant-protein supplement, a fiber supplement, a men's multivitamin, a vitamin D3 supplement, and an iron supplement.
2000 is a men's daily average. At 1500 calories a day, a man will lose 1 pound per week. So after 20 weeks, my weight would be down from 242 to 222 -- 100 pounds overweight [without adding on muscle mass].
I need to eat a broad spectrum of well seasoned, light-on-fat, fruit, veggies, beans, and grain, to keep things from getting 'repetitive.'
I can't eat much rice, because after multiple exposures to both white and brown rice, my blood sugar spirals dangerously out of control if i have more than a small serving.
Might be the same story with oatmeal -- i don't recall.
I bought a week or two of veggies and fruit for 60USD. 5-10 dollars a day, so very good value compaired to tv dinners and fast food. I already had a month or two of dry beans at home -- 30USD?

Will, where are you finding these figures. After five months living on nuts and berries I would expect to lose a whole lot more than 20 pounds.

Quote:A good rule of thumb for healthy weight loss is a deficit
of about 500 calories per day. That should put you on
course to lose about 1 pound per week. This is based
on a starting point of at least 1,500 to 1,800 calories a
day for men and those assigned male at birth.

What is your goal weight…you said that after a 20lb loss you’ll be at 222lbs and still 100 lbs to go? Thats not right unless you’re about 5’2” tall.
Are you adding walks or other exercises to prevent muscle mass loss? You need to keep your muscle mass as it will also help you to lose weight (and can also be a reason for hitting plateaus…be warned!).

I am 5'4" tall.
The upper limit of my ideal weight is 130 pounds, according to my primary care physician; I assume that that is with healthy muscle mass.
The lower end of my ideal weight is 110 pounds, according to my primary care physician; I assume that that is with slight muscle mass.
I need to begin building muscle. I need to start weight lifting -- low and slow at first!
I walk and spin bike.

TRIGGER WARNINGS: ALL OF THEM
I had a very bad 24 hours.
Some asshole was very rude on the internet last night.
I wanted to cut my wrists, but started to trash the house.
I did not want to stress eat.
I had to call a friend in the middle of the night.
Today, my transport was 35 minuets late and i missed my goddamn appointment and the fag-queers who worked at the doctor's office wouldn't help me, and whore doctor moved on to it's 2:00pm appointment when I was '14' [actually only 11] minuets late. I wanted to kill myself (a little). I want to be turned off and turned back on again when everything is better....
My boyfriend loved meeee. He is goooood. T.T [bitch cry]
Had dairy. I was that angry. I didn't care how much suffering i was responsible for. I. did not. care.
Well. I want to hurt myself. Everyone is evil..... Maybe.
Weeeell.....
I stress ate today: Coke zero, Impossible whopper, Hershey pie. : (
I hate. I hate. That's me.
Anyway......... i don't care (mightbe).
cals today: 1590. but not by trying. i slept a lot and want death to fall on those who hurt me. : \

Will... I know cyberspace can be very impersonal
but please know that I regard you as a distant but
respected friend. And I'm always interested in your
day to day goings on, always with some welcome and
self-deprecating humour which—hopefully—fends
off that bloody black dog!
And please don't consider self-harm. It's invariably a
pointless exercise that can only result in further grief
after the event—so longer term it's literally a waste of
your time and effort. I know that all sounds a bit glib,
but as a sufferer of clinical depression myself (for a
couple of decades) I can empathise with you when you
find yourself in that dark mood mate.
Anyways... I'll look forward to your future musings.
And get back on that fucking diet!

You know that you can change the internet to something else or turn it off very easily. You don't have to read or put up with shit you don't like. You are not obligated. When things start going sideways then it's time to move on or even take a time out.
