Christian apologist claims human limbs can regrow

This is a video of a debate between Dr. Sharon Dirckx (who has a PhD in Brain Imaging from the University of Cambridge and has held research positions in the UK. She is also an adjunct lecturer at OCCA the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics) and Steve Woodford  - an atheist who runs the Rationality Rules YouTube channel. 

You can either watch the entire video.........in which Dirckx handwaves, avoids, deflects and otherwise fails to really tackle any of the issues (with some assistance from a less than neutral moderator), or go straight to 40:54 when the subject of "why doesn't god heal amputees" comes up. This is the point when Dirckx makes the extraordinary claim that "she-knows-someone- who-knows-someone" who's limb regrew. 

While science is harnessing the regenerative power of human stem cells from bone marrow to help patients rebuild or regenerate muscle, vascular and nerve tissues, this falls way short of limb regeneration. Dirckx's claim is an astonishing one - particularly as she links it to intercessionary prayer.

Astonishing and astonishingly dishonest.

But then she's a member of the same group (OCCA) as another well-known liar-for-Jesus, John Lennox.

Dr. Sharon Dirckx is a Senior Tutor at the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics,
which "seeks to communicate the good news of Jesus Christ through the cultural
questions of our day and equip others to do the same".

She was totally out of her depth in this debate—embarrassingly so.  As an apologetic
she needs to take some lessons from William Lane Craig.

Salamanders have it all over mammals when it comes to regenerating lost limbs or other structures.  Perhaps this god asshole is a lizard?

And if we ever develop the ability to regenerate limbs, it will be science doing it. Damn Christians will still claim it came from god somehow but, they’ll be wrong…as usual.

How awesome is science figures out how to regenerate spinal nerves for the paralyzed, new digits for lost fingers or thumb, new legs, feet, hearts, pancreas, liver…and on! Now in our lifetimes but baby steps will get us there!
