Solar Eclipse Today
Today is April 8th, 2024, the day of the total Solar eclipse.

For breakfast I had bagels and cream cheese and salmon with tea and orange drink and blond coffee.

Lunch is up in the air but probably from a cafe.

Dinner: Champagne and brie and water-crackers and smoked salmon and wheat crackers with mustard dill sauce.

Deesert: Prosecco and fresh red raspberries.

Walking a total of 7 hours today. One down to the liquor store to get the prosecco (got the champagne already). Three hours to the downtown area. Three hours back home.

Got a haircut.

Send me good vibes you guys.

Mountain-high though the difficulties appear, terrible and gloomy though all things seem, they are but Mâyâ.
Fear not — it is banished. Crush it, and it vanishes. Stamp upon it, and it dies.

The forecast today is not friendly to eclipse viewing.

Side note, has anyone heard of any whacky explanations flat earthers have for the mechanics of an eclipse?

In Indianapolis and hoping the clouds don’t come in for at least another 5 hours.

I was clouded out in 2017. Arrgh

Clear and sunny in Phoenix.  We are supposed to get about a 65% coverage around 11:20 local time.

It was a nothing-burger here.  Not even noticeable.

If you arent in the path of totality, you wont notice it at all. I was shocked to realize that it was hardly getting dark(er) at all until ca. 99% of the sun was covered (in the 1999 EU eclipse). It reminds us about how bright the sun is, how fucking bright every single square meter of its surface is.

We were not in the path, 80% obscured, but could tell a subtle difference in luminosity.

My wife took a colander out for a pinhole, the multiple holes made it look like pop art.

If next to an airport then quite likely, albeit the visit to heaven would have been limited by the amount of fuel on board.

It's eclipse rapture day, no mechanical device needed, just blind faith! (I assume they have to be staring at it) Chuckle

I used Google maps to get here and my phone was dying!

A very kind barista is letting me charge my phone.

I'll tell you guys about the eclipse when I get home.
