Most of you have probably seen on Tic Toc or Google the controversy taking place with pastor Bobby Leonard, at BBT.

This Church is in my town about 8 miles from where I live. My mother has been a member there forever.

I know everyone there, one of my cousins is an associate pastor there. I know Bobby Leonard very well, see him all the time here and there.

What he said was wrong and he has admitted it was wrong. He is I think like 86 and his mental health has been on a downward slope for sometime now, with everyone seeing it.

They are the fundamentalist's of the fundamentalist's, meaning they are very strict in accordance with the Scripture, you might say to strict in some areas. I have some problems myself with what they teach and how they teach it.

But basically he needs to step down permanently from at least preaching. His mental capacity is fading fast.

To cut it short, he said in one of his sermons how he had been here and there and noticed the shorts women were wearing. 

He said, "a man will be a man when he see's a woman dressed this way."

Then he went on to say the unthinkable.

If I were on a jury where a man raped a woman who was dressed this way, I'd let him go.

It's nice that we have managed to build a society in which when someone like that speaks up in such way, they are met with shame, reprobation and disgust.

Now that you understand that this occurs, do you realize how wrong the stoning decision is? Do you realize that the rapist will use her non vocalization to convince others that she was ok with the rape? Do you realize now that men have escaped prosecution and punishment due to a survival instinct that women have?

Is god wrong to punish the woman because she failed to cry out or do you think men might have put these words into gods mouth? Be honest!

More then that. While freezing in a dangerous and horrifying situation is fairly common, many women who find themselves in such situation don't call for help and might even "assist" the rapist so that he finishes faster as to avoid being harmed even more or even killed. Some rapists, are sadly, not above killing their victims if they fear getting caught or be denounced by them; thus many victim simply "let them win without a fight" as to not risking finding out just how violent and cruel their agressor is.

Compassion, logic and respect for women never are the strong suits of patriarchal autocrats and priesthood.
