Which Lord are you speaking of Charlie24? The House of Lords in England, our second parliamentary chamber, where I live, has hundreds of members. The King James bible incorporated the word "lord" to make the peasants obey the local "lord" of the shire, and thus make peasants subservient. True fact. Are you subservient Charlie24? I hope not.

Evolution has no "obvious designer" therefore it is by "chance."

So highlighting this - Evolution is a "process" that is still happening now, it is [normally] very slow so you don't actively 'notice' anything in your life time.It can even be observed in species that breed very fast, [I beleive many experiments are done with fruit flys for example].

When it comes to "chance" its a yes/no type of deal - as the process overall happens regardless of if its a good thing or bad thing for the organism. Those that live with any changes will pass those changes on, and those with changes that make their chances of reproducing any lower, will basically die off and that genetic mutation will not be passed on any further.

An example: Giraffes and their food.

Giraffes used to have short necks. We know this thanks to fossils records etc, but what is important to note is that their food source [the trees they eat from] also used to be shorter. As each organism evolved, each slowly adapted over time - so in this case, the trees that were taller lived longer and managed to reproduce more. The giraffes basically had the same gradual change - as the ones with longer necks could reach the food. And so on and so on until we get Giraffes as we know them today and their food source also being in very tall trees.

Worth noting is that during this time there would have been organisms on both sides that were probably "smaller" as well, via mutation of the genes, but will have died off once the food source disappeared as it had been eaten before it could reproduce etc.

So its not "completely random" but more a % of the next generation that will live on and pass that change onto their decendants etc, while everything else dies away. And again even then those "random changes" aren't beneficial at all. And its not in the sense of "of the organism just went *poof* and changed into somehing else/had the thing it needed" - in most species it takes millions of years over multiple generations for this to get to where we see it now - and again its constant process at that.


At the end of the if you don't "believe" evolution is real, you never will. However, as with anything in science, a Theory [in the scientific sense and not the colloquial "well its only a theory" sense] means that using ALL the data we have from hundreds of years of study and of course the fossil records etc, means we have come to the conclusion that this is 99.99% fact. If you have another hypothesis, then do please show your work and submit a paper - all of science will be happy to review.
