The Greeks and Romans associated large male members with the lower animals like horses and donkeys who they felt were uncivilized and not in control of themselves so classical nude male statues displayed smaller than normal penises.   Learned this when I was a art history major.  .......

.......and then I switched majors and became a theatre costume design major, you know, because I went after the BIG BUCKS!    Hahahahaha.
