This looks a little too romantic. I won't go as far as to say sexual, but she sure looks like she has some plans later for the dummy.

Well, apparently Christian puppets and ventriloquist record albums were a thing back in the 1960's.   Who knew?    But.......um.....why would you have a ventriloquist on a record album?   I mean, it would just be the voice.

Good thing jesus loves them because those broads are so butt-ugly that normal guys would be double-bagging them.

They're so ugly they could be a modern art masterpiece you'd need half a dozen Viagra and about ten shots of navy rum to even contemplate getting jiggy. One thing's for sure, these fugglys never need to worry about having a purity ring, they just don't need one.

Gee, I need to thank Ajbrerry for starting this thread so we could turn it into a comedy.     It's been fun and a lot of laughs.   Not exactly what the OP wanted though.

As is customary in my culture, I welcome you to this forum.

In my culture, even Noam Chomsky is welcome. (In fact, we invited him here to speak back in the day.)

Quote:“In my own professional work I have touched on a variety of different fields. I’ve done work in mathematical linguistics, for example, without any professional credentials in mathematics; in this subject I am completely self-taught, and not very well taught. But I’ve often been invited by universities to speak on mathematical linguistics at mathematics seminars and colloquia. No one has ever asked me whether I have the appropriate credentials to speak on these subjects; the mathematicians couldn’t care less. What they want to know is what I have to say. No one has ever objected to my right to speak, asking whether I have a doctor’s degree in mathematics, or whether I have taken advanced courses in the subject. That would never have entered their minds. They want to know whether I am right or wrong, whether the subject is interesting or not, whether better approaches are possible… the discussion dealt with the subject, not with my right to discuss it.

But on the other hand, in discussion or debate concerning social issues or American foreign policy…. The issue is constantly raised, often with considerable venom. I’ve repeatedly been challenged on grounds of credentials, or asked, what special training do I have that entitles you to speak on these matters. The assumption is that people like me, who are outsiders from a professional viewpoint, are not entitled to speak on such things.

Compare mathematics and the political sciences… it’s quite striking. In mathematics, in physics, people are concerned with what you say, not with your certification. But in order to speak about social reality, you must have the proper credentials, particularly if you depart from the accepted framework of thinking. Generally speaking, it seems fair to say that the richer the intellectual substance of a field, the less there is a concern for credentials, and the greater is the concern for content.”

I should point out that it's not just my own mathemagical culture that is welcoming to the stranger, it is my wife's magical culture as well. (She comes from a Catholic culture, one of Colombia's 500 year old so-called "cultures of resistence", where non-violence is a lifestyle, not a tactic, famous for their macheteros and their cattle rustlers, so welcoming the stranger is actually unambiguously a part of her religion, from a Historical and Anthropological point of view. You don't have to be Catholic to be loved. Please don't let the fact that her religion is historically a religion of war deter you. War is just a part of her religion, just like cattle rustling. Don't let history and anthropology freak you out. Remember, it's just science. And we all believe in science, don't we?)

Here's a video that illustrates the welcoming nature of her culture. (Like many YouTube videos in the age of AI, it has audio-generated closed captions in the language of your choice. If you need any help viewing it, there are instructional music videos on YouTube that can help to teach you how to click "play" to enjoy the magic. Please let me know if you need help.)

So, on behalf of all of us here at the Atheist Discussion Forum, as well as all of our families, all of our neighbors, and all of our friends, I want to extend a heartfelt welcome to you.

By the way, I have a thread here titled "Can you hear the shape of a drum?". (Yeah, I'm an atheist mathematician.) Please feel free to post your thoughts in that thread. You don't have to be a mathematician to have thoughts on this topic. Here in this forum, we value your thoughts, and look forward to your contributions.

By working together towards the common goal of multiculturalism, we can all help to construct the peace, regardless of our cultures and our (ir)religions.

By the way, even if you are Protestant, don't believe all of the racist lies that you may hear from time to time from those who wish to divide us here in America.

Disinformation has been rampant here in America in our own lifetimes.

When you hear rumors, you need to cross-reference those rumors with science.

Sciences like History and Anthropology.

Here's an example of the kinds of white supremacist lies that have been promulgated about my wife's culture.

I promise you, my wife has never eaten anybody, regardless of what some of those in western cultures have claimed.

Quote:It is true that the processes of colonization and evangelization set the dualistic pattern between good and evil, and this devil is the accuser, the one who controls, the evil one; the Patía Valley has historically been known as a territory bearing evil. Patía, a rugged place, associated with black people, cattle theft, lowliness linked to the exercise of force, fencing, crime, and forced labor in mining. I remember as a child in Popayán, certain adults would tell children phrases like: "If you behave badly, a black person from Patía will eat you or kill you." Epithets such as "blacks," "savages," "infidels," "soulless" throughout the colonial period and until the mid-20th century, represented evil for anyone who did not conform to the established moral conduct of the nation-state. The Afro-descendants were considered "irrational" in a colonial rationality due to their distinctive conception and behavior; later, they were declared "stateless" for not participating in the liberation campaign led by Simón Bolívar, who fought for freedom alongside those who had been their masters before they escaped from slavery.

It's good to have thread devoted to Love and multiculturalism here, isn't it?

It's refreshing!

And it is the very best part of atheist cultures!

(And non-atheist cultures as well.)

Finally, something that all people of good will, all over the world, regardless of culture or religion, here and now in the 21st Century, can agree on!

This is what atheism is all about!

That's called Seinfeld Atheism.

It's about nothing. (Quite literally.)

Seinfeld Atheism is somewhat related to Seinfeld Theism.

Which is also about nothing. (Quite metaphorically.)

By the way, what did your Aristotelian ancestors have to say about Physics?

We all know what they had to say about Mathematics.

And it was pretty cool.

What an absolute pity! I was really hoping that our new friend would return to tell us about his little buddy, Jesus. I guess Jesus didn't see fit to equip him with the magical keys to opening our hearts and minds.
