But....but.... the earth is only 6,000 years old, D42.  Why do you listen to these blaspheming scientists instead of some preacher in a funny hat?

Yeah, this is one of my pet peeves.

So if a god created life through abiogenesis then he also created malaria which has killed at least 2 billion people over the course of recorded  human history, but probably more.  Last year it killed 400,000 people and that's down from 600,000 each year in the previous decade. Since 1900 malaria has killed around 200 million people and most of them were children and babies.   If you're looking for a perfectly designed system to kill millions isn't the tiny inconsequential mosquito the perfect way to do it.

"Oh" but they say  "People are born sinners because Adam and Eve allowed evil to come into this world so that's why diseases are everywhere. "

Really?  A baby is born a sinner so deserves to die from malaria?

But the real problem with this Adam and Eve sin crap is that scientists have found ancient malaria pathogens in droplets of amber which are 100 million years old, loooong before humans ever existed.

So if a god created the first life on this planet then he also created malaria before humans evolved, knowing in advance that malaria would eventually kill billions of people.  He would know this because he's omniscient and can see the future.   So even if this monster was proven to exist I'd tell him to fuck off.

Yeah, it's one of my pet peeves.

However, god also gave some blacks an ability to resist infection from malaria. The gene that causes sickle cell anemia also gives partial immunity to malaria.  The problem comes when both parents carry the gene and develop sickle cell disease.  One parent…you’re golden.  Too bad god wasn’t as considerate to us white folks…or Asian folks…or other POC.  God loves blacks more! That’ll go over big in evangelical circles in the US.  Aggravated Aggravated Aggravated

Sickle cell anemia kills a lot of Black kids.  I think scientists have made some advances with this disease but I'm not certain.  I certainly hope so.

The main problem I have with Christianity is the sin thing.  It wouldn't be quite so bad as religion's go if that weren't it's main theme.   You're born sick and commanded to be well and if you don't swallow the Jesus pill you'll burn in everlasting hell...... "Oh, but god loves you."  Yeah sure.  In a pigs eye!

It's a religion based on physical threats if you don't comply.   It's extortion.   Extortion is illegal where I live.
