Frankenstein Meets The Space Monster

I first watched this as a kid. I had no concept of a low-budget B-movie, so I assumed Frankenstein would be represented by the typical Boris Karloff/Universal Studios version. The picture of Frankenstein in the movie poster even makes him look somewhat like the Universal Studios version.

This is what he actually looked like.

He was actually a robot nicknamed Frankie, with a loose reference to him being similar to Mary Shelley's Frankenstein monster by the girlfriend of the guy who invented him for space travel. It took me awhile to accept the fact that Frankie was Frankenstein. I held out for as long as I could waiting for the real Frankenstein to show up.
