I merely stated that Admins and Mods control sites and that you weren't understanding that. That makes sense as they are the site-owners. And, in return, I get "Go fuck yourself, clown"? OK, someone help me understand that...

@Cavebear
You are frequently and abruptly rude in your posts and seem to have little awareness of this. You have trouble understanding modern cultural references, nuance, sarcasm, or satire. But otherwise you are a stand up guy.

I personally consider you one of the most obnoxious posters on the forum today. On a scale of 10, you might be a 2 (there are worse nuts, sometimes). That's just my personal opinion, of course.

Everyone here, except for possibly the forum staff, comprehends you all too well. I've stayed out of your "arguments" (for want of a better term, like "diarrhea fountains"), given your comments exactly as much response as they deserve, and given you the attention you deserve. But, I've observed you defend the indefensible, project your personal butt-hurt on others, never pass up an opportunity to insult those who disagree with you, even mildly, and generally act in a puerile manner. You are of little to no value to the forum, despite your delusions of grandeur. ![]()
It's "Je ne sais quoi", Vorpal. If you want to seem educated...

She looked at me over the top of her tortoiseshell glasses and corrected my pronunciation gently, then led me to the right shelf. That's kinda what this here reminds me of.

We have a town down here called Llano, Spanish word which basically means "plains" or "flatland". Being somewhat bilingual with Spanish, I know what the double-L is supposed to sound like, and it drives me nuts that they say "Lah-no" rather than "Yah-no". Then I remind myself that I was there too, once. Following the news about Ukraine, I'm discovering a lot about how Russians and Ukrainians pronounce things. I'm pretty ignant in most cases.

When I was a child, I read a lot. English can be tricky sometimes, so I understand about "Camoo", LOL! Some words or names are written but not spoken infrequently. Once, Mom asked me to bike to the nearby grocery stotre to get some "boloney". All I found was "bologna" and returned home without it. I read both the Illiad and the Oddessy around 10. I knew Ulysses's wife was Penelope, but thought it was pronounced like "envelope". I knew what "debris" was but not as "debree". Life can be difficult for early learners. And along that line, I often spoke of "calvary" coming to the rescue on horseback. I wasn't alone on that sort of oddity. My brother counted things backwards. He would say he had 8 or 7 items; it was always the larger number first. ![]() Speaking of reading... By the time I was about 12, I had read all the books in the "young adult" section of the library. Back then, children weren't allowed to check out adult books (at least where I lived). I got special permission to read more "adult books" (screened by the librarian). She never refused one, but only because I never asked for anything "sexy or controversial". I was going straight to science fiction and real science.

I personally think I have a great sense of humor. I enjoy even weak jokes and enjoy even bad comic strips. I usually get the point even if it is kinna lame. I recall old ones and recognize repeats. I like TV comics. Jeff Dunham cracks me up all the time, and I love Jeff Foxworthy. Convoluted puns are always great (see my tag line). I can even still laugh at old Bob Hope and Bill Cosby routines. So, you are utterly wrong about that. What you might be trying to get at (as a guess) is that you think Vorpal is "humerus" (funny bone, get it?). No, he seems to be very serious". If he is trying to be humorous, he is failing badly. I might have a failure of recognizing sarcasm in print, though. I enjoy it, properly done, but I have trouble seeing it in print sometimes. The body-language clues are missing. I tend to read posts rather literally because of that. Oh well, you can't always understand everything. ![]()
