Philosophy as the concept

Philosophy as the concept
Philosophy isn't a reality. It's the dream conceptualized as a mere what-if.

Even Shakespeare understood this:

There are more things on heaven and earth, Horatio, than are dreamt of in your philosophy.

Quote:By writing this, Shakespeare meant that one must believe what he or she sees. Even if they previously did not think so, the real evidence should change their mind.

Philosophy is the dream, the concept, and not the reality, or the real evidence.

What do we mean when we say philosophy?

How should we define philosophy?

When will philosophy apologize for the abomination that is metaphysics?

As subjective as opinions and philosophy are, probably.

Philosophy as the concept
Philosophy is a waste of time. Worse then that, the study of philosophy, when taken
seriously, impedes scientific progress. Philosophical questioning is no longer seen to
serve any human interest other than to build a personal reputation as a “scholar” and
fill a tenure folder. Academic philosophy serves only to loosen our tenable grasp on
inquiry and the very “wisdom” it's purported to seek.
