It could be worse.  Maybe they are just here to heat up the climate to their liking...
I am tying notes to balloons and tumble-weeds and sending them out to the world. Where they are found, I do not know...

You should read the "Thunder and Lightning" series of books, by John Varley. https://smile.amazon.com/Thunder-Lightni...190&sr=8-5

I probably should. But after 50 years of reading sci-fi, Jack Chalker (everything) and Orson Card (Ender's Game) finally just burned me out. I just can't sit and read anymore... The future dysutopias are feeling far too near.

I suppose this is along the lines of saying that someone who buys a ticket to fly to Chicago is not a "pilot."

So, I've been thinking about this "obscenely rich" thing.
I'm wondering if it's all (well, mostly) smoke and mirrors ??
First of all, if he tried to sell all his shares, they would dive, profoundly.
His fortune is valued (incorrectly) as what the last sale of the last share sold, ... was.
Also, every internet-based anything, is over-valued, as basically they are ALL not secure, and subject to hackers.
Until the internet is secure, it's all just all just a guessing game, in some vast lottery.
Bezos is rich. As far as I'm concerned, "how rich" ... is unknown.
I fart in your general direction.  Angel

Money is just the way we keep score. Cowrie shells were currency at one point.

They should award astronaut wings to Wally, though.  She and her Mercury 13 teammates did all the training and got hosed out of their chance at a ride 60 years ago.
