The Far Right follies (topical thread)
This is the thread where we skewer the fascist-right wingnuts. Let's start this off with everyone's favorite, Marjorie Taylor Greene:
Quote:The governor of Guam offered to send Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) a history book after the conservative firebrand incorrectly referred to the U.S. territory as a foreign land during a speech railing against federal financial aid going to other countries.
Krystal Paco-San Agustin, the communicators director for Gov. Lourdes Leon Guerrero (D), told The Guam Post on Thursday that they would be "more than happy to send Representative Greene's office a copy of 'Destiny's Landfall: A History of Guam.'"
Del. Michael San Nicolas (D), a non-voting delegate representing Guam in Congress, told the outlet that he would be delivering Greene "delicious Chamorro Chip Cookies as part of our ongoing outreach to new members to introduce them to our wonderful island of Guam."
Guam has been part of the United States since 1899, and people born on the island in the west Pacific Ocean have been considered U.S. citizens since 1950. Guam's roughly 170,000 residents do pay federal taxes but not federal income tax.

... annnnd ...
Quote:Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) called Rep. David Cicilline "Rep. Mussolini" after the Rhode Island Democrat proposed a rule change to block her from forcing motions to adjourn.
The comment came after Greene was asked by Newsweek about a proposed rule change from Cicilline that would only allow a member to make a motion to adjourn if they are a member of a committee.
The House voted to strip Greene of her committee assignments last month over her previous endorsement of conspiracy theories and violence against Democratic politicians, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.).
When Newsweek asked about Cicilline's proposal, Greene said, "Do you mean Rep. Mussolini?"
"Not only did Democrats unilaterally strip away my committees, now they want to remove any powers I have to represent my district," she added. "The Democrats run the House of Hypocrites with tyrannical control."
Cicilline responded to Greene's comments on Twitter, saying, "I'm an Italian and a Jew. Mussolini was a fascist dictator in league with Adolf Hitler, who murdered six million Jews. Marjorie Taylor Greene can get lost."

As Pa Thump used to say, "You've got two ears and one mouth for a reason. Use them in that order."
Thread is not terribly topical, meant more as fun, so let's see your favorite examples.

Watch: John Oliver Dedicates Entire Segment to Exposing Tucker Carlson as a ‘White Supremacist’
https://www.mediaite.com/entertainment/w...premacist/
Quote:
“When you put all of this together, the pattern is clear,” explained Oliver. “He is scared of a country that ‘looks nothing like the one he grew up in’ because diversity ‘isn’t our strength,’ immigrants make our country ‘poorer, dirtier, and more divided,’ and any attempt to change that culture is an attack on Western civilization. All of which is really just a long way of saying that when Tucker asks, ‘What is white supremacy?’ the answer is: basically that. It’s a belief that in a country where white people are dominant, that’s all down to their natural and innate abilities, and any effort to change that is an affront to the natural order of things.”

Quote:Arkansas Gov. Asa Hutchinson [R] on Sunday said that the vaccine hesitancy reported among supporters of former President Trump is due to “a natural resistance to government,” calling it “worrisome.”
Appearing on CNN’s “State of the Union,” host Dana Bash asked Hutchinson what he made of the hesitancy, noting that voters in his state of Arkansas are largely pro-Trump. Earlier in the program, Bash noted that half of Trump supporters have said they do not plan on getting a coronavirus vaccine.
“Well I've thought a lot about that and I think it's a natural resistance to government and skepticism of it. But you look at the breadth of support here in Arkansas for President Trump, and you have rural voters, you have minority voters and their hesitancy is worrisome, not just here but all across the country,” Hutchinson said.
“And I expect, as a country, we'll get the 50 percent vaccination rate of the population, but we're going to have a harder time getting from 50 percent to 70 percent, and it's about overcoming the skepticism,” he added.

In other news, the virus doesn't give a shit about your politics. It'll kill you just as dead.
Of course, those states with a large number of these idjits will probably suffer prolonged economic difficulties as the virus continues to circulate. But hey, they'll have the satisfaction of political purity.

A feature of far-right movements was characterised in the 1960s by the American political
scientist Richard Hofstadter as the "paranoid style" —a style of mind that evokes a sense
of heated exaggeration, suspiciousness, and conspiratorial fantasy.
This is a pretty comprehensive listing of Australian ultra/far right nutcases:
• William Baylebridge [dec], writer and poet, later associated with Stephensen's Australia First Movement.
• Fraser Anning, former Queensland Senator[!], former One Nation member and founder of Fraser Anning's Conservative National Party.
• Eric Campbell [dec], political activist, Chief Commander of the New Guard, Leader of the Centre Party.
• Graeme Campbell, former One Nation member, pro-apartheid, anti-immigration, founder of Australia First Party.
• Ralph Cerminara, anti-Islamist, founder of Australian Defence League.
• Blair Cottrell, neo-Nazi, founding member of United Patriots Front, Lads Society, provides security for Fraser Anning.
• Neil Erikson, anti-Muslim, founding member of United Patriots Front, Lads Society.
• Pauline Hanson, current QLD Senator[!], founder of One Nation. (Graeme Campbell, Jim Saleam and Fraser Anning, all former members of Hanson's One Nation).
• George Hodges Knox [dec], former Nationalist Party, United Australia Party and Liberal Party member, Deputy Chief Commander of the New Guard.
• Danny Nalliah, Young Earth Creationist, anti-Islam, founder and leader of Rise Up Australia.
• Debbie Robinson, founder and leader of Yellow Vest Australia and director of Q Society Inc.
• Jim Saleam, founder of National Action, former National Socialist Party of Australia, leader of Australia First Party.
• Jack van Tongeren, neo-Nazi,anti-Asian, anti-immigration, founder of the Australian Nationalist Movement.
• Avi Yemini, anti-Islam, follower of Haredi Judaism, "the world’s proudest Jewish Nazi", associated with the UPF and Lads Society.
• Brenton Harrison Tarrant, white Nationalist, neo-fascist far-right terrorist responsible for Christchurch mosque shootings in NZ.
I'm a creationist; I believe that man created God.

A white headmaster reportedly told an 11-year-old Black student to apologize to a teacher the 'African way' by kneeling down to the ground
https://www.insider.com/white-headmaster...ize-2021-3
Quote:A white Catholic school headmaster instructed a Black student to kneel to the ground and apologize, the New York Daily News reported.
On February 25, Headmaster John Holian of the St. Martin de Porres Marianist school in Long Island told Trisha Paul's 11-year-old son, Trayson, to apologize to a teacher the "African way," which he claimed to have learned from a Nigerian father, according to the Daily News.
That day, Trayson had completed his in-class reading early and began working on another assignment. His English teacher noticed and called him out on it, Paul told the Daily News. The teacher allegedly tore up the assignment and escorted him to Holian's office, where the headmaster told Trayson to drop to his knees, the Daily News reported.

Admitting that her charges were "... even impossible" is pretty much admitting to defamation:
Quote:To prove prima facie defamation, a plaintiff must show four things: 1) a false statement purporting to be fact; 2) publication or communication of that statement to a third person; 3) fault amounting to at least negligence; and 4) damages, or some harm caused to the person or entity who is the subject of the statement.
https://www.law.cornell.edu/wex/defamation
1) The statement was and is false.
2) it was communicated to a third person.
3) Even if her "opinion" was honest, it qualifies as negligent given the dearth of evidence.
4) Beliefs in her false claims caused damage.
That her lawyers admitted to all this in court documents is going to cripple her defense.

The rise of Reclaim Australia has seen extremist members of the groups splinter off
to form new groups, such as the True Blue Crew and the United Patriots Front. Here we
see a protest march in Sydney NSW, demonstrating against just about everything:
