He wasn't decorated veteran but neither he was coward like trump, using made up illness to escape military service. On the other hand he certainly liked his ego stroked (Stalingrad comes to mind) though maybe not necessarily with parades.

Using Trump as a baseline for courage is like using Kelvin zero as a baseline for temperature. I don't think Stalin was a coward, but his two-weeks' meltdown in summer 1941 definitely shows some frailty of character, even if he pulled it together later.

He was lucky he had Zhukov come along to save his ass in the nick of time.

Trump emulating Biden?

Is Trump's rumoured Parkinson's catching up
with him, or is it simply early onset dementia
causing him a loss of spatial awareness?

As bad as Trump was in 2016, essentially uneducated and unknowledgeable about factual matters, he is certainly less so now. He is more random than he was even 4 years ago, less specific about plans, and responds to questions more vaguely.

I'm not saying that just because I disagree with him politically. It is just that he isn't functioning well these days. And that makes him very dangerous in the complicated international and domestic problems facing the US and the world.

Some in the resistance see this as an opportunity to really pile on as he is weak, but your'e right -- that also makes him (and perhaps more importantly, his movement) dangerous.

Several have predicted he will not serve out his term, whether because of illness, death, impeachment or the 25th amendment. But that leaves Vance, who in some ways is more dangerous. In fact no one in the chain of succession gives me much hope.

The Democratic Party overall isn't rising to the occasion, and even my confidence in the election apparatus and methodology is faltering, so I am not counting on a midterm rout (while still hoping for one).

It's a chaotic situation and things can change on a dime. Not a fun time to be living through.

Like Agnew to Nixon, Vance would have to go first.

While I agree that Vance could be more dangerous, mainly because he is actually smart, I’m not sure how it would actually play out. Vance certainly isn’t charismatic nor worshipped the way Trump is. I’m also not sure how some of the powerful Republicans would rally behind him….publicly, yes they would but, privately?

Remember, hs now Catholic and has a non white Hindu wife and everyone knows he was a couch fucker…:-)

Never underestimate the power of Office. Republicans are all about togetherness. They would follow Vance just because he is one of them, would hold power, and do things they like.

I grant that Vance has some personal issues and social MAGA negatives. But really, Trump did worse (rape and 34 convictions, financial grifting, has a foreign trophy wife, and is about as religious as a turtle, etc) and that never bothered the House and Senate Republicans much. So Vance would suit them just fine.

So he has to go first, then Trump.

Trump raped 34 women, Vance raped a couch. Republicans don't mind Trump, do you think they'll take a stand for couches? They will follow anyone who wields power in their name -- anyone, no matter their failings, moral, Constitutional, or ethical. They've already made that clear.

The favourability ratings of Vance have dropped below
those of previous vice presidents at similar points in
their terms.    This decline raises concerns about his
political future.

According to RealClearPolitics, Vance's favourability
stands at 41.7%, with an unfavourability of 44.8%,
resulting in a net negative of 3.1 percentage points.
This is slightly worse than Trump's net favourability
of -0.9 percentage points.

Pew Research Center (8 June) reports Trump's approval
rating at 41.0% and his disapproval rating at 58%.

The latest Quinnipiac University poll found Trump’s
approval rating had dipped since April. It also found
minimal support for Trump’s signature domestic policy
bill.

Less than 30% of voters nationally—and just 67% of
Republicans—supported his officially and childishly-named
One Big Beautiful Bill Act. And the poll found that 58% of
voters, including 16% of Republicans, wanted to see
congressional Republicans stand up to Trump more.

Trump's red hat seems permanently attached lately. His Helmet Hair hairspray is no longer able to make his comb-over cover the cranial vacancies?

Apparently Trump has been taking hair regrowth drugs,
which seem not to be working.  Check out his complex
comb-over pattern LOL.  I;m sure the super vain Trump
sees lack of hair as a lack of manly virility.

Or maybe he felt double-crossed by Israel's not adhering to the cease-fire and was just blind mad?

Quote:Rafael Grossi, the director general of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) said on Monday that the IAEA could no longer account for Iran’s stockpile of 400kg of uranium enriched to 60% purity.

The Guardian revealed last Wednesday that top political appointees at the Pentagon had been briefed at the start of Trump’s second term that the 30,000lb “bunker buster” GBU-57 bombs meant to be used on Fordow would not completely destroy the facility.

In that briefing, in January, officials were told by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency at the Pentagon that developed the GBU-57 that the bombs would not penetrate deep enough underground and only a tactical nuclear weapon would wipe out Fordow.

When Covid came along, I stopped going to the barber shop. The "good old boys" who just collected there made fun of my wearing a mask. So I stopped going and just shaved my head at home. I feel fine about it years later and no less "manly". Maybe Trump should consider it.

I can imagine the historians of the future ranking Trump as "the worst ever" but had to confidence to go deliberately baldy". Thumbs Up

Historians of the present rank Fuckface as the worst ever.  Certainly the most crooked piece of shit to ever sit in the oval office and when you've lived through Nixon that is saying something!

That survey only accounts for his first term, SYZ  He's had plenty of time to kick Johnson and Buchanan to the curb in term #2.
