undefinedAfter six years of life together. I had to euthanise one of my two dogs today. I adopted her from the SPCA six years ago and she passed yesteday due to mammary cancer. She was a very sweet dog and I'll miss her a lot.

I am truly sorry for your loss.

If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.
Pits have a lousy reputation but at the end of the day they are merely dogs and the fault usually lies with the asshole humans who raised them.
But in your situation, Epy, you did what had to be done. Dogs are amazingly stoic. They do not show signs of discomfort. By the time any cancer reaches the point where the dog begins to show symptoms it is usually too late and they are in pain and what dog owner could tolerate that? You helped her when she needed you most. Take comfort in that.
What a beautiful dog. My sympathies on your loss, bud. Take solace in the fact that you rescued her and gave her six good years.

Condolences/sorry for your loss. Glad you didn't let her suffer.
Rescue another when you're ready.

Sorry to hear of your loss. I had to have my favorite cat euthanized three years ago, so I know how you feel.

That's hard, even when it is the kindest thing you can do.
I have not been able to bring myself to get another dog since my first and only was euthanized in 1999.

Dogs get under your skin it really is like losing a member of your family when they go.

Oh man that terrible, sorry for your loss.
As bad as it sounds I don't think my dog is far off passing/reaching a similar stage - had her from a pup and nows she's 13 years old; back legs are going/teeth are real bad/she's got like lumps and all sorts now. But shes still going and isn't in any noticeable pain/complaining at all - and still loves a good cuddle. |
