I'm sure his family and friends are in pain and would send them condolences if they knew who I was. But yeah, I was ascairt, because this guy's a badass:

Boris, my co-worker for so many years. For many years (started before Corona) he was fighting cancer, but last week (only days after i have seen him for the last time) he lost his final battle. He was a bit of a strange guy but a good guy. Never harming a fly, always being a good person, always helful when asked.
He is survived by his 90y old mother. I cant even begin to fathom being in her shoes.

It was bowel cancer, he was a slim guy anyway, and it was not a question of "will he die" but "when will he die", either of chemo or cancer itself. For i dont know how long (thats how long) he was on and off chemo. It was like watching someone being eaten alive.(10-08-2024, 06:23 AM)Deesse23 Wrote: Boris, my co-worker for so many years. He was doing electronics even as a hobby, and my guess is it gave him purpose and a reason. I guess thats what kept him going.

That's sad. Sorry for you and your friend.
If you get to thinking you’re a person of some influence, try ordering somebody else’s dog around.

Who's dead now?
And like a desert spring, my lover comes and spreads her wings,
Knowing, Like a song that's born to soar the sky, Flowing, Flowing 'til the rivers all are dry, Growing, the loving in her eyes. (10-23-2024, 06:17 AM)Cavebear Wrote: Too many people younger than me. Most people ARE younger than me!

I was most of the way through that album before I realized who it was. I can't stand Grateful Dead but that thing is a beauty. The live concerts? I would rather listen to Mahler. I went to a concert and it was the worst concert I ever went to. They were very late, only played for about half an hour and when the audience complained, they flipped the bird and walked off. I doubt anyone thought it was a good concert and certainly not worth the money we paid. I never bothered with them again.
Funnily enough, I've only ever been to one rock concert in my life, and that was the Dead, with the New Riders Of The Purple Sage opening, at the Hollywood Bowl in '70. I went because one of my mechanic co-workers had a son just a year younger than I, at the time, and he was paying my way. First experience with wine and marijuana. Didn't get sick. Pretty boring, actually. There were any number bands that I was more into.

I was never much into them, but this song really moves me.

Grammy-winning crooner Jack Jones, known for
singing 'The Love Boat' theme song, has died aged 86. I'm a creationist; I believe that man created God.
Teri Garr, 79, actress in a thousand roles since 1963. I don't think there was a popular TV series she wasn't in across many decades, and many movie roles too.
I'm gonna be sad the rest of the day.
