A unique but common problem is heartbeat coincidence (HBC).
This occurs when the foetal heart rate value displayed on the
monitor originates from the maternal heart source, or in multiple
gestations, the foetal heart rate from one foetus mimics another
foetus
.

Factors such as the baby's position or abnormal heart rates for
either foetus or mother can cause HBC.

This all of course raises the question of these Catholic hospitals
claiming to be able to determine—conclusively—that there is, or
is not a foetal heartbeat, and therefore make an accurate assessment
of a live foetus.  In simple terms, the ultrasound may be registering
the mother's heartbeat instead.

From CNN:

Quote:The Archdiocese of Los Angeles has agreed to pay $880 million to victims of clergy sexual abuse dating back decades, in what an attorney said was the largest single child sex abuse settlement with a Catholic archdiocese, it was announced Wednesday.
...
Attorneys for 1,353 people who allege that they suffered horrific abuse at the hands of local Catholic priests reached the settlement after months of negotiations with the archdiocese, the Los Angeles Times reported.
...
The archdiocese has previously paid $740 million to victims in various settlements and had pledged to better protect its church members, so this settlement would put the total payout at more than $1.5 billion, the Times said.

I see no mention of the bastards having to sell any land or property in order to fund these payments.

Unless it falls under "other assets," I guess the Catholic Church is too rich to need to sell off properties, even for this amount.

I keep looking for differences between the mafia and the fucking church.

So far, about the only one I can find is that the mafia doesn't molest children.

Aye, if all else fails they may have to dip into their black hole of a bank.

The RCC is what I would call "sinfully" rich. I've seen pics of the Vatican and surrounds. They certainly aren't looking to serve the poor. I'd be embarrassed by that shit if I was still Catholic. Now, I'm just disgusted. I'm reminded of a series of science fiction books where some religious order's members were truly servants. Some big shot went to the head of their order for something or other and demanded to speak to the supreme leader of that religion. Some guy shows up in a homespun robe and sandals, and the guy is further incensed, until he learns that this person is actually the leader. Yeah, that'll be the day.

According to some estimates, the Catholic Church, led
by the Holy See in the Vatican, owns $73 billion in assets
globally. Due to its secretiveness regarding its finances,
estimates of the church's wealth vary—but it's certainly
upwards of $30 billion.

The Vatican owns more than 5,000 church and investment
properties around the world, a central office at the Catholic
church revealed for the first time in 2021.

An Australian investigation has found that the Catholic
church's estimated national wealth at $30 billion, with
more than $9 billion in my home state of Victoria alone.

(Personally, I doubt that $30 billion, as it's
only an extrapolated figure from the small,
potentially inaccurate Victorian sample.)

In a book about the Vatican I read awhile ago, focusing on the gay clergy, it was interesting how these gay priests, bishops, cardinals and nuncios hide being gay while being exorbitant with their clothing and furnishings. It’s like they make up for their lack of expression as gay men by surrounding themselves with over the top accessories and their apartments are furnished with art, furniture and bedding that’s trying to make up for their frustrations. Of course, they also have many gay encounters while hiding it from each other (which often fails anyway).

So much for any vow of poverty.

I liked your post, but I'd like to point out that gay is different from pedophile.

Of course it is.  I was just saying how the clergy spend obscene amounts of money on various expressions while hiding their gay lifestyle.  I’m sure there’s likely some pedos in there, too, but the book was looking at the lifestyles of the gay church.

I should have understood. I went camping for a couple days and I'm still brain damaged from listening to my talking without stopping the entire time.  girl blushing

Their dresses are designed for virtually instant access
and exposure to their genitals.

Maybe for having a wee, but then what other purpose
could there be one wonders?

Nice air flow?  Feels swishy when they walk?  Hide little boys under it?
