Looks like 2020 is not going to go out quietly for southern Brits. Amber weather warning for Sussex as Storm Bella is due to bring winds up to 80mph from 10pm on the 26th through to 9am on the 27th.

Our cold front landed about 30 minutes ago. The temperature dropped ten degrees in about two minutes, literally. Looking at some rain with possible thunderstorms.

Very cold here already, and forecast to drop to -5 overnight.

We're getting sprinkles at the moment. That should work out just lovely ... when the temperature drops to it's usual nighttime 25 degrees.
Can't wait to hit that road. Dodgy

A second cold front has brought my least-favorite weather -- "wintry mix". Just a few minutes ago it was big, lush snowflakes falling on fresh rain-puddles. Now it's sleet.

Definitely making a stew tonight.

I could have sworn it got down below 15 F last night. The thermometer lies! My ass knows the TRUE temperature!

Cold, wet, and overcast here in southeast Tx. "Dreary" let's say.

From the way the water in the birdbath was solid ice this morning I guessed we had a hard frost last night. Took the dogs to the village green to see the ducks walking on the frozen pond. Left a few piles of sunflower hearts (bird food) for them as I think they will need and appreciate it.

Forecast is for warmer overnight and the next few days. Giddy heights of 8C tomorrow afternoon!

Dreary, gray, cloudy and bits of rain all day here in Portland.  Last week was rainy. Looks like the week ahead is about the same with a few sun spots here and there.   Every winter I post this dufus video from the tv show, Portlandia because it gives me such a chuckle.   Big Grin

That's claustrophobic snowy.

One month to wait, and it's Spring here, and the trees and bushes start blooming.

Only in Winnipeg...

You're lying in bed, listening to Information Radio (the local morning show on CBC Radio), and:

"Current temperature is -20 Celsius..."

"Oh, good! It's gone up."

Central and northern Germany has been hit by winter, and it has been hit hard. Up to 20cm of snow (50cm in the mountaneous areas), daytime temperatures dropping to -10C/14F. Daytime temperatures will drop in the next two weeks....to -15C/5F, with -25C/-13F during the night. Long range public transport has almost come to a halt (trains from Berlin to Frankfurt or Cologne are no more).

This is supposed to be the most extreme since 1978/79.

Here we had +7 today. Temperatures will drop down to -10 within the next 3 days, with considerable precipitation (one can only hope it will not be freezing rain/ice but snow).
