Just watched Shape of Water with Ms Jerry. It was okay, kinda predictable. Lady meets sea creature, lady romances sea creature, bad guys chase sea creature, sea creature escapes. I think it won the Oscar for best pic, or was a nominee at least. I can see nominee, barely, I guess.
All Good Things, a creepy murder mystery based on true events.

What movie did you last see?
Wonder Wheel
A Woody Allen film on Amazon Which was a beautifully done and nostalgic period piece about Coney Island About morally compromised people with complicated sexual relationships, Which had a voice-over narration (by Justin Timberlake, who also played a lifeguard), With gangsters, Drama, And old-time music. Cafe Society A Woody Allen film on Amazon Which was a beautifully done and nostalgic period piece about Hollywood and New York About morally compromised people with complicated sexual relationships, Which had a voice-over narration (by Woody Allen, who sounded 300 years old), With gangsters, Humor, And old-time music. However, the first was full of arguments and was difficult to watch. The second was a lot more fun, although it was very similar to Radio Days in certain ways.
Wildling
Started out really good, and then.... it got weird and bad.
A Man Called Horse starring Richard Harris. It's part of my DVD collection.

Zulu Dawn starring Burt Lancaster and Bob Hoskins is an excellent prequel.

Haven't seen that one. I have a soft spot for "Zulu", I saw it first time the night after my first "near run thing" battle. "Men of Harlech", despite being written later, stirred me and helped me come out of post-fight funk.
Saw the new Halloween movie Wed. night. Boss Lady and I were the only people in the theater. Gave us a chance to do our usually tiny heads in the corner thing.
Premise: Another total reboot. Michael has been in a state facility since the original killing spree when he was six. And, of course, on Oct. 31st the residents of said facility are being moved to a new one. Meanwhile, three generations of Laurie Strode's family are still working on dealing with that baggage of that night. Jamie Lee is one crazy grandmother. Or is she?
Regression starring Ethan Hawke and Emma Watson. It's all about the pseudoscience of repressed memories and what could happen to innocent suspects if they are applied to police investigations.

Insomnia.

Watergate is hinted at right at the end. Mark Felt AKA "Deep Throat" actually died back in 2008.

Halloween movies! Boss Lady went to a big screen showing of "The Exorcist" last night, start time 10 pm. I'm make sure she reports.

Very long movie, and the music isn't my type (though I do like some of Gaga's stuff), but it was a very relevant plot, and treated fairly realistically. Would have loved to see more Arizona landmarks.

This was very very strange, and very very fun. "The Thinking Atheist forum" “The Thinking Atheist forum closed down" “TTA Forum”

Harry Potter and the Ghostly Hallows Parts 1 and 2 on TV this evening.
I don't care much for the movies - I tried, I really tried, to like them The movies are not very good as they don't actually stand on their own. They are difficult to follow if one hasn't read the books, and disappointing and annoying if one has. The changes made to the events are largely pointless and not only don't add to the plot or characters but actually detract, sometimes making no sense. The final battle was dreadful and largely missed the point. While the casting was quite good and the sets and graphics impressive (except Voldemort's nose - that was amateurish), that does not make up for the failures in plot and dialogue.
