Must be.
Kids don't name themselves. Just ask Elon Musk's kid.
Robert G. Ingersoll : “No man with a sense of humor ever founded a religion.”
Jesus this is a stupid thread.
Mountain-high though the difficulties appear, terrible and gloomy though all things seem, they are but Mâyâ.
Fear not — it is banished. Crush it, and it vanishes. Stamp upon it, and it dies. Vivekananda
Wait a second ... if a "Jesus" guy existed as written, he was Jewish, not a Christian soooo ...
I say he completely cancelled himself at his so-called emaculate conception. as does this thread

You mean his "emasculated" conception. God didn't/couldn't even do the deed with Mary. He sends down an angel who spreds fairy dust on her and 'poof' she's preggers.
I check with Fox Mulder.

I can see it now: "Dude, it wasn't me!" "Yeah, but he's got your blue eyes and light skin." Joseph pulled out his belt-knife and took a menacing step forward. "No, I promise! See, there's this guy, who lives in Heaven. I bet he came down and decided that your wife would be the mother of the Savior. Please!" "Tell me more." "It's a sign of Yahweh's favor on your house that he should choose your wife to bear the holy child." Sheathing his knife, Joseph took on a thoughtful countenance. After some silence, he pulled his knife out again and advanced to the murder. But ever after he would tell folks that Jesus son of Joseph was the Lamb of God. It was worth a few pecks of grain if nothing else.
On hiatus.
I don't know about atheist, but I doubt Christian Dior was religious.
Being told you're delusional does not necessarily mean you're mental.
Nope. No atheists named Christian or Jesus. I checked the international database of names of people who are atheists.

I know at least three guys named Christian who are not Christians, more people with the word "Christ" somewhere in their full names.
"The advantage of faith over reason, is that reason requires understanding. Which usually requires education; resources of time and money.
Religion needs none of that. - It empowers the lowliest idiot to pretend that he is wiser than the wise, ignoring all the indications otherwise " - A. Never argue with people who type fast and have too much time on their hands...

Atheists named Christian and Jesus
There must be some named 'Christian' at the very least I reckon.
Side note: there will be a tonne with the other religious names. [As a Daniel, can confirm.]
Nobody of the Atheist Celebrity Website named Christian or Jesus.
“I expect to pass this way but once; any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again.” (Etienne De Grellet)
I'm actually more curious as to why there aren't more Christians named Jesus (outside of the Spanish-speaking world, anyway), given how hard it is to find a Muslim male who isn't named Muhammad Something-or-Other. I know Islam and Christianity have their differences, but none of the key differences really seem to account for the marked disparity in people named after the respective prophet. The best hypothesis I've yet devised is that it's a compensation for aniconism. Many Muslims believe it sinful to visually depict Muhammad (or any living thing) in any kind of art, yet in their deep-seated need to pay abject homage to him, they settle for naming their sons after him as the next best option. Meanwhile, in Christian-dominated societies, images (and often rather realistic ones at that) of Christ typically abound with few if anyone raising any eyebrows, so Christians don't feel nearly as much need to pay extra homage to him through the names they give their sons.
Does the number of men named Muhammad This or Muhammad That drop off in non-aniconistic sects of Islam (if such sects even exist)?

New religions have a way of trying to make themselves distinct from other, older religions. So these questions might be a matter of who did what first. |
