Small doses of properly diluted ethanol good. I worked on an aerospace program one time that the mission sensor was cleaned with a mixture of ethanol and hexane. The ethanol was 197 proof reagent grade, and was purchased in 5 gallon drums complete with a tax stamp. I hear tell that in the early days of the program some of the techs would sneak a little with some orange juice for dilution purposes. I would never do that. It's easy enough to ruin a megabuck's worth of hardware when one has their senses about them. Don't need drink in that environment.
