I wonder why...
Found this in our stats:

The most users online at one time was 546 on Sunday, December 1st, 2019 at 10:58 am

We don't even have quite 460 members, and many are not active. How strange.

I'd say, "user" doesn't equal "member". So there may have been a lot of folks browsing without being registered.

I know, but 546 all on the first of December at 10:58 am? That was a Sunday. We never have that many online at a time. There are a lot of lurkers, but not near that number and not on a Sunday morning.

If users includes guests, then it's not surprising.

It's highly unusual for so many people to be awake at 10.58am on a Sunday.

Maybe @Mathilda can look at a server log to see if it's really all different IPs?

That was my birthday so they were all hanging out here ready to pounce on my birthday thread.

That or bots, maybe.

I'd venture an opinion but that would erase any doubt regarding my ignorance of all things computing.

I used to scroll through half a million telephone records once a month (for legitimate governmental purposes).  I'm good at it.  If you want to sent me a spreadsheet, I'll find info.  And then delete it.

That was me. I'm actually a hundred or so different people. It can get confusing.

You may find that the few theists posting here may be suffering from a multiple personality disorder.

That may account for some of the seemingly extra numbers of posters.       Big Grin

Yeah, I would suspect trolls and bots. And maybe advertisers on old posts. I found them on my blog. Some I can't even delete. I don't know how they do that. I have the blog set to require approval for comments more than 3 days old, yet they escape that.

Well, that's good. But you have set up a conundrum for yourself. Where did all those posts come from if not spam?
