Olive, the other reindeer
Heard the line for the first time in this movie, and I just had to share it.
Except, that looking at youtube it's not precisely anything new. Just new to me.
You know, Olive, surely.
Olive, the other reindeer
Used to laugh and call him names.
That Olive, such a dick.

When you're hard of listening every song is new.

A skill you learned to tune out the wife, no doubt.

That's one of the few Christmas cartoons I like. It's a little bit off kilter and I like it because of that.

Off-kilter is fine. I go that way myself. Rick and Morty, and Archer.

My off-kilter is more like Dexter.

One of my favorite Christmas movies is Bad Santa. Still funny after all these years.

Olive, the other reindeer
"Olive the other reindeer" is what's known as a mondegreen, which is a mishearing or
misinterpretation of a phrase as a result of near-homophony, in a way that gives it a new meaning.
US writer Sylvia Wright, 1954: —From Lady Mondegreen, a misinterpretation of the phrase
"laid him on the green", from the traditional ballad "The Bonnie Earl of Moray".
Ye Highlands and ye Lowlands,
Oh, where hae ye been?
They hae slain the Earl o' Moray,
And laid him on the green.
I'm a creationist; I believe that man created God.

Olive, the other reindeer
We gave my sister an Olive quite a few years ago.
She takes it when they travel.
There are pictures of Olive everywhere, .. Hawaii, Mexico, Italy, Greece.
She has a few outfits. She usually wears her "biker" black leather.
She has a drinking problem. Many of her photos are of her passed out with her drinks.
