'People are coming to kiss the cabinet and say prayers'

Dear me,
We have come so far in Ireland but now and again we still have this sort of crap. This still happens down in the countryside, outside the cities. The shop has been offered €10,000 for the cabinet. If I was rich I’d buy it and then burn it on the Halloween bonfire.

Looks like a used Trojan-Enz condom to me. Maybe God's trying to tell them something.

Right ... so their god can do this and let millions of starving people die.

Reminds me of the big who-ha there was, when some of us joined Sucipe Domine (dummy-knee).
And I changed the "Hail Mary" ... "Hail Mary full of grace, .... may someone hot sit on your face".
They had a stroke. OMG. That was fun. Weeping

Great example of pareidolia, nothing more.

pareidolia
  • n.
The perception of a recognizable image or meaningful pattern where none exists or is intended, as the perception of a face in the surface features of the moon.
  • n.
The tendency to interpret a vague stimulus as something known to the observer, such as interpreting marks on Mars as canals, seeing shapes in clouds, or hearing hidden messages in music.

I suppose I suffered from that. When we were kids we'd lay on our backs in the grass and try to make up stories about stuff we saw in the clouds...

You'd be weird if you did not.  It's a human thing.  I did the same thing .

There are no representations of this Mary slut from antiquity.

She might have looked like this:

Of course, she most likely never existed at all.

At times like this I remember that the first penis in Mary's vagina was that of her son.

Penn & Teller noted a case like this on their program Bullshit! A door made of the same wooden material had a grain pattern resembling a couple of eyes looking into a Hispanic woman's kitchen. She and her son thought it was a portal through which Jesus was looking into their home. They prostrated themselves before it and prayed. It wasn't mentioned in the program, but I'll bet they were inviting neighbours and friends over for a look, maybe even charging a fee.  Dodgy

But Tacitus. Tacitus wrote about Dame Edna.

So it's at least understandable why some people want to kiss it.
The first revolt is against the supreme tyranny of theology, of the phantom of God. As long as we have a master in heaven, we will be slaves on earth.
