Some of you probably aren't aware of this but many evangelical Christians whose daughters want to take ballet classes are not at all pleased that ballet schools which are rife with gay male dancers.  "Oh no!  Shock   My poor daughter is being exposed to gay people!"  So for the past 30 years they've started their own ballet schools.  Now I can't say for sure if they have male dancers.  All the videos I see have no male dancers but that's not to say there are none.

Mostly what these girls do is dance worshipful dances praising Jesus and god.  Blah!  Ick!

You don't have to watch it but here's an example

Just another Evangelical way of separating their daughters from reality and making sure that everything they do is praising their idiot god.  Ick!  Excuse me while I go throw up.

Yeah, I'm not watching it.

After all, I only watch ballet for the cute male booties.

Damn, look how tight that is.

I assume these are not professional dancers? Their skill seems somewhat lacking even from my two left-footed perspective.

Yeah,  these are schools. There are schools which are geared more for the pre-professional dancers who want to make dance their career.   If any of these girls want to go professional they'd have to be exposed to gay male dancers and go to one of these schools.    Not that all male dancers are gay.  It's about half and half.  I knew one straight male dancer who was thrilled to be surrounded by women and had a very active sex life.

Maybe all the jackhammering in the alley is distracting me, but there seemed to be very little actual ballet in that performance. Granted, my local professional ompany does do modern dance in its Beer and Ballet night every year, but this really isn't even competent for that. That was awful to watch, and if I were the daughter, I would not be having any fun with that,.
Is this sig thing on?

No doubt the children will be safer there. Everyone knows evangelists don't have any molestation issues.

That routine looked like something even I could do.

Too bad.  Someone with real talent and drive stuck in one of these studios will be deprived of even the chance of a career because of the time wasted learning bad technique while avoiding the appearance of sin.

Yup.

Fundamentalists have a long history of this sort of thing. They have their own film industry, for example, and while things have improved somewhat, in my day their output was uniformly mediocre to laughable. A partial exception was Billy Graham's film operation, World Wide Pictures. I say partial in that it mostly was lame scripting still, but at least the production values were usually competitive with Hollywood.

All of this effort, though, to make sure everything is G or PG-rated and free of gays and god friendly, preferably with at least a veiled appeal to repent of one's sins? I guess I could see the point if evangelicals had lower divorce and/or crime rates and better mental health outcomes than the general population. It might provide some justification for them circling the wagons and keeping themselves "pure". But alas ...

Phaedrus, there's a very interesting British Choreographer named Matthew Bourne who isn't afraid to show two gay male dancers dancing with each other.  He's the guy who choreographed a male Swan Lake with all male swans.  It's fantastic. But here is his humorous side.  He's very unusual and very watchable for people who aren't so crazy about classical ballet.  There's something very Wooster and Jeeves about this piece.

Circling the wagon and shutting out the world echos their circular reasoning fallacies.... because that's what you do when you don't want to think.

Of course, as with everything else, they are largely full of shit.

https://conquerseries.com/why-68-percent...atch-porn/

Quote:The survey conducted over the past five years revealed that 68 percent of Christian men and 50 percent of pastors view pornography regularly. But even more shocking is that 11-17 year-old boys reported being its greatest users. The Church is in the sexual battle of its life. As these boys become adults, the Church will be flooded with porn addicts. Pastor James Reeves of City On A Hill Church DFW has successfully tackled porn addiction in his church. He warns, “This problem is going to sweep through the Church like a tsunami wave of destruction and we’re not prepared for it.”

Yabut lesbians are ok because men are totally turned on by lesbian sex.  So bring on the lesbians!

Not technically ballet.  Clumsy choreography. Poor synchronisation.  Terrible outfits.  Shit music.
