Face Tattoos... The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly
I'm not a lover of tattoos in the best of circumstances (I'd never get one) but to me,
these examples are truly horrendous, and I'd be guessing when these people are as
old as me, they'll be living to regret their youthful imprudence:

And these are by no means the most extreme I saw LOL.

Tastes differ. I don't like the first one, but whatever.

I can see how it could be fun - if it wasn't permanent. Times change, and what is cool today is laughable tomorrow.

On a body autonomy level, people have a right to get tattoos, including the face. But still, as much as some may not like it, others will still judge you for it. It's just a fact they do, not that they always should.

I won't get one myself. I've seen lots of great tattoos, but they still fade and wrinkle when you get old.

Now imagine these tattoos as these people get older.  The skin loses it's elasiticy and gravity takes everything down a few notches.  Those flowers on that girls face will look like blobs of red in 30 or 40 years.  In my opinion the only good tattoo is no tattoo at all but it's their bodies so they can do whatever they want.  The only tattoo I kinda, sorta like is a white tattoo.

But even that is going to get all streatched out when the skin expands.

Here's a white tattoo on black skin.   There's something kinda ok about white tattoos.  Still would never get one though.

I've always supervised positions that deal with the public. I've never hired anyone with a facial tattoo that extended beyond the tears at the corner of an eye. Extensive stuff like in the OP is a no-go.

I saw that on Live PD. The mug shot was from a previous offence, and very useful for the current offence. He would be a career criminal if "stupid" was a career.

I have tattoos. Only one is visible when I wear short sleeves. I am 60 years of age. I will probably get more. Facial tattoos like the ones above are a sure way to write yourself out of normal society. They would be cool if you were planning on being a tattooist or Death Metal guitarist your whole life. A roadie or carnie maybe. Can you imagine waking up from surgery and the RN caring for you has Beelzebub tattooed across forehead?  If you do this you better plan on working in a job that face tattoos are no concern. My son was touring on the Van's tour a few years back and his mother and I got free passes. I was watching these three "kids" with full facial tattoos walking around being pretentiously cool and confrontational. One kid noticed me (old fart) staring and said "What are you looking at!" I said "Dude, you fucked up!". I noticed a guick recognition of this in his eyes before he waltzed away. I hope he is OK.

That shit's funny, considering the intent is to draw attention.

Face tattooing can also be belligerent.

I know! "What am I looking at? A 20 something with his entire face covered in ink!"

I think that's the essential message.

I also think that someone tatting their faces expects to be noticed, and that taking umbrage at that is funny.

"What are you looking at?"

"Your face."

Probably the best exchange, because it points up the ridiculousness of it all.

A teenage Belgian girl who claimed 56 stars were tattooed on her on her face as she slept when she
asked for three has admitted she was awake the whole time—and lied because her father was "furious".

Amid a frenzy of media attention, she then said she would sue the tattoo artist, Rouslan Toumaniantz,
for the £9,000 she needed for laser surgery to have them removed. She said after the tattooing last week:
"It is terrible for me. I cannot go out on to the street. I look like a freak." But the 18-year-old has finally
confessed she did not fall asleep, that she wanted all the stars and was "fully aware" of what Mr Toumaniantz
was doing.

Is the photo on the right after she had the tattoos lazered off or before she had the tattoos put on?  It takes a lot of lazering to remove tattoos.  I think the lazer has to almost burn the skin to remove the ink and it makes a big scab and then the scab falls off with some of the ink with it.  If I remember correctly it has to be done over several sessions.

If I was the tattoo guy, dealing with a dopey 18 year old, I would have had a simple contract to avoid this confusion: "Gonna put 56 stars on ur face, stupid.  Sign here:"

Let's face it, some of these face-tattoo folks should be shot in the face with a laser, just 'cause.

The photo on the left, with the stars, was taken in 2009.  The photo on the left in 2013.
